His Benefits

Resolutions That Will Not Be Broken

Many of us make resolutions for each New Year. We do this with the best of intentions. Sadly, before we are well into the New Year, a lot of us will break these resolutions. Happily, we can rely on God to keep the resolutions that He made for us, knowing for certain, that He will not break them.

Through Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, we have been made a part of God’s covenant with His people. He will not break this covenant. We find evidence of this in Hebrews 8:10; “For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people.” Also in Jeremiah 31:1, we find these words, “At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.” God has resolved to guide, direct, protect and provide for His people, as is evident by his Word in Jeremiah 29:11-13, where we find the statement: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

God made promises for us out of His undying love for us. Romans 5:8 states; “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” God’s promises for us are many and varied. First and foremost is the promise of eternal life through His Son. In Isaiah 1:18, we find these words; “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” In God we find forgiveness through His Son. Once we come to God and are made worthy through the Lamb, it is very important from that point on, that we strive to be obedient to our Father, in order to reap the full benefit of our inheritance as children of The King. Isaiah 1:19 states; “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” This is reiterated in Isaiah 3:10, ”Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.”

As Christians, we can be at peace while trusting God, knowing that every need will be supplied by our Father. That peace is spoken of in Isaiah 26:3, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” We can be sure that God’s promises will stand; “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever” (Isaiah 40:8). We are also assured of this in Isaiah 55:11 where God states; “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” We, as Christians, can look to the promises that God made for us, and rest assured that these are resolutions that will never be broken. We can rest assured that in the New Year and beyond, we will have the all-encompassing love of God through which there are riches untold.

  1. Gods timing is always on time. Thank you for moving with the spirit and allowing it to guide you to share the truth. May encouragement and blessing pour into your life.
I pray more Christians share their faith and support others who do the same and when I say support I mean "give them your business" that's being a doer.
